Your Opinons on roleplaying?

I was thinking of starting a village in the next world with some light to medium role playing. I wasn't thinking of making it too much the center of the village life, but I thought that it might be something interesting to try out in a brand new world when that time comes.

Anyways, I just wanted to know what you guys thought about role playing in video games, would you do so in H&H, why and why not, etc to see how/if I would want to go about starting a role playing village.

I like roleplaying as far as the immersion of the gameworld allows; but if there isn't any particular gameplay aspect to support roleplaying, I don't see the point that much.

Although in the hearthlands, since everything is player built, a large enough faction who roleplays a certain way could force certain behaviors of players, if they were strong enough to force such behaviors. That could be interesting.

There's likely not to be one anytime soon. People say they'll do stuff after the reset because since this world is so old, it's hard to be influential if it's something that's new.

It's interesting, in Magh Tuireadh, roleplaying just kind of happens as a natural part of playing.

We still talk about certain things like quality and such, but mostly, we talk ICly. I've frequently been asked if I roleplay, if that's why I talk the way I do, and all I can say is.. "Nah, this is just how I talk when I play."..

So.. Yeah, I enjoy it, and it's part of what we do without thinking.

I wonder how many others are like that.

Well, we usually just chill, though I was in a clan a while back that had a multiworld server and there was a roleplay map that we used alot. All in all, I like sorta serious RPing but not full time.

One of the villages I was in World 3 was only Celtic/Germanic names allowed, which was pretty cool. No names like l33Tguy111 or shit like that, but actual names.

Also the village was a celtic name.

I'd approve and join that village. Right now all we're doing over here is foraging, selling stuff, and using IRC to communicate so it would be a nice change, but it would have to be more subtle and chill roleplaying and not the hardcore type, I'm not up for that lol.
