An old village member, a thief, Mopstar is dead.

An old villager of Damascus (originally was 'Soul Storm'), who was gone for 5 months with no word, logged on recently. Again, without notice, he decided that he was done with our village, though he certainly retained his attachments to a few things not of his ownership.

I was startled when I noticed some scents:

I had never met Mopstar (he was gone that long), but from the little I knew of him he seemed to have a slight history of theft. I suppose I can't blame him, it's part of the game really. However, we don't condone stealing (especially against us), so we felt it should be dealt with. Taking a boat and some food would have been forgivable, but he took some of our nice trade goods and silk production goods. His last words to us were "If you come after me I'll hunt you down." It was clear decision: Sarah Jane (Dithilli) and I put on our gear and took off after him.

Some hours later:

(Sarah was just on the edge of my screen)

Alas, poor Mopstar, I did not know him well. I would like to wish him good hunting in the afterlife.

It seems that your thief also had a curious case of rigor mortis.

Your pavement is a crime against architecture :x

I'm tempted to go and "vandalize" it into something a bit more regular.

Sup, as someone who barely knows Mopstar, I will say this.

You didn't kill him.

The story is this.

We are just starting up a village, still full of new, low level players. We were recruiting a few more people since we were lacking in numbers.
Mopstar came along saying he would like to join and is fairly high leveled. We let him. Mopstar then started stealing stuff, even though we asked and told him not to. His response was "no one will do anything anyway" and he continued.

You killed an innocent guy. Mopstar had a few (metal) tools he was passing around that we were lacking (such as a pickaxe). My guess is this is one of the items he stole, you tracked the stolen item and killed whoever was holding it. This person happens to have been playing for less than 4-5 hours.

Mopstar is still alive. You killed an innocent person.
If you want to kill Mopstar, then go ahead, just leave the rest of us out of it. (I personally don't want some high level thief associated with us, but I have no power to stop him, or get rid of him, and even if I did, I could not force him as he could one shot kill me anyway)

you can't get summoned for holding stolen items. and a person playing 4-5 hours is wearing necro robe and ranger cloak? unlikely.
