i got killed and cleaned out badly, with a runestone reminding me of my little sin of stealing. this isnt a whine thread, just wanted to ask: whyyyyyyy goood wwhhhhyyyyy???? i admit ive been stealing things, but only in camps that had no palisades and looked empty, also never stole anything valuable. most importantly everything looks like the murderer was a pro. just waned to ask what the reason for killing me was. did i leave theft scents when i brought my chest, put it down and lifted while trading at angkor/nopel? i also missclick stealed an item at a trading stand at nopel but put it in the box next to it, but i think that wasnt it as it was more than 2 days ago.

btw my trades wont be going on for a few days

Dont try to steal anymore as its said in H&H wiki :

Leaving this scent is probably the most common way to get yourself killed, since wandering 'do gooders' are apt to track theft scents, even on abandoned claims.

Bored rangers often track random scents they have no knowledge of. When I track scents in nople I track without trying to find an explanation in most cases. I was not your killer because contrary to popular belief, I'm not that much of a dick.

Really just don't leave scents even at abandoned places unless your hearthfire is in a regularly patrolled brickwalled village claim. For the right price I might be willing to atleast find out who your killer is (maybe get revenge depending on who it was).

as i said i came with a chest and dropped it there and lifted it again, i didnt steal anything

Yeah lol because people just happen to drop their chests in front of stands accidentally.

ok pretty sure those scents, if thats theft scents, arent mine. i looked at all stands but only used the first one with the cavebulbs. so if i left theft scents there it would be on top close to the river

It could happen... About a half-dozen times... Coincidentally as items go missing...
