The Xymop Question

Postby Truth0 » Tue Dec 21, 2010 6:36 pm

My companions and I live in the Xymop vicinity. In our explorations of the area, it turns out that Xymop owns 6-10 other villages as well as a few smaller settlements. Upon exploration we have uncovered a very large amount of runestones cursing some anonymous people and/or Russians, sometimes with runestones in Russian which I assume are a response. Many of these locations have Xymop banners planted in the middle while the items and constructions are left to rot. We have also seen multiple runetones in good and sometimes broken English threatening the nearby settlement, generally something about "you will leave or you will die," or "you have x days to leave."

Someone in my own group was murdered last night and we had our fences and chicken coop destroyed, along with crops stolen. Today two people entered my house (required trespassing) and attempted to talk with me although one claimed to be Korean and the other used Cyrillic. Later about six Russians passed by on boats and two of them stopped and threatened me repeatedly in broken English that I must watch my words and that I will pay for my words despite me only having asked who they are, what village they're from, and what they wanted. One of them called me a liar a few times and said he'd kill me if I continued to lie. He then said "Be prepared to answer for your words" and left with his buddy.

From this evidence it seems Xymop is a very aggressive village. What is everyone else's knowledge on them? Although I don't want to give them what they want, it seems it would be unwise to continue living here.

Xymop has always been very aggressive with their territory expansion. They have the largest village claim I have seen in this game. It extends from Xymop most of the way north to New Brodgar and west past Deephold. I don't know how far east or south it goes. I know where they are supposedly heading, but the name doesn't mean anything to me. I'll keep it a secret for now.

Having lived in Rome and Deephold I spent most of my time in HnH living next to Xymop. They were always friendly to me, and I even got a tour of xymop one time. The name is actually closer to Xytop. The only negative exchange between our villages I can confirm is a villager of deephold stole a boat from xytop. In return they attacked him, but failed to kill him. After that we worked out a solution peacefully with their lawspeaker. The key was talking to their LS, as a lot of their villagers speak broken english and it leads to bad things.

If you stole from Xytop or any of their affiliates, which is a lot, they are part of AD, you will more than likely die if you stay in the area. Or if they think you are being rude, there is a chance you will die as well. I'm not saying it's fair or condoning their actions, but these things have been happening a lot lately.

I live near Xymop and one of their rangers is always passing by my village, I'd say he is very kind if you ask me. :P
