Murdered in our home

Postby Gedrean » Fri Jan 07, 2011 1:33 am

So, today I was logged in, stepped away from my keyboard to get some water, come back and there's a wagon parked on our property (myself and my teammate's), and a guy wandering around our stuff. I ask him what he's doing, he gets in the wagon and starts leaving. I follow him, demanding my stuff back expecting he was stealing. I butcher the cow leading the wagon (tried to get off it in time to stop and just prevent him from leaving, but ended up killing the cow) - he says he wasn't stealing, only looking through all of our stuff (opening things, entering our house, etc) to find out what he could trade for, says he didn't find anything he liked so he was leaving.

During this time my teammate logs in to check our stuff.

I demanded to know why he didn't just ask for information to trade stuff, he claims he didn't see me.

says then that I owe him a cow, i say we have none. He goes away for a bit, I go through our stuff to determine if he did take anything but as we have a lot of things to go through I don't get through everything. HE comes back in our property and hides behind a cupboard, I go around to try to memorize him and he shoots me with ranged a few times, I get outside and he murders me. My teammate meanwhile gets brought down to 5hhp before he manages to log out, meanwhile this guy has been stealing stuff from our house.

We request the aid of a ranger to assist with this matter, -- the stolen stuff is less of a bother than the murder, and I'm damn sure the murder occurred on my teammate's marked claim (his claim is on the property). My charaname was "Kazak" his charaname is "Nomos". We can offer some things the thief hasn't taken in payment though most will be Q10 - I apologize for the low values but we are still relatively new to this (I think we've been at it for 1-1.5 weeks?)

We are at 16,42 on Mqrius' havenmap, a minimap-and-a-half west of Roadville.

EDIT: This was all within the last hour.
EDIT2: Murderer was first in regular clothing then was in a bear head and cape when returning, if that helps!

You won't be saying that in a week or two when you realize how many abandoned homes there are. A 30 second boat ride south of my village literally bring you to the ghetto. There's abandoned claims everywhere with the occasional newb taking things and raiders patrolling. It reminds me of Detroit.

Sounds like you were at fault and not this guy, you should have turned on tracking to see if he had indeed left 'theft' scents. If you hadn't then you were making pointless claims.

Because trespassing and rummaging through someone's home, as well as acting suspiciously, is completely acceptable.

/sarcasm
We had no tracking, we aren't high-level, and our P*E (given he was able to fetch a bear cloak quickly) would never have even reached his I*S if he had any time to play before we did.

Oh, and glad to see you feel the griefers are what makes this game fun. Trespassed upon, stolen from and murdered because we're much lower level than this other player. That's completely justified.

Oh, also now he's set up a PC like half a minimap away from ours, to keep us from getting back our stolen stuff.

He's managed to wipe out everything in our property.

Honestly, enough QQing, if you were that low-level then it won't be hard to get up to the same skill level quickly. Also, you said you were the first strike and getting ranging isn't "High Level" 5k lp? Hardly and neither is a Bear Cloak. Although the rest is pointless, you attacked and killed his cow without proof of theft you just saw you rummaging your stuff which is hardly an offense at all.
