Bottleneck invades Xanadu

Postby Onionfighter » Mon Apr 19, 2010 6:59 am

The history: After one of our village members was raided by strangers who destroyed what they couldn't take, I tracked the perpetrators to the village of Xanadu (strange for me, having belonged to Xanadu on the previous map). Judging by, among other things, the rune stones in the area, I concluded that it was a goon village, which Sabinati admitted. He agreed to pay us restitution for the lost and destroyed stuff.

In the process of working out what would be paid back, we were attacked again. The raiders again destroyed all they couldn't take, and even killed our lawspeaker, possibly using the chat bug.

So we took our revenge:
Getting inside.

Eventually we had a fight. This was the largest fight on this game I have ever been a part of. Frankly I am surprised our people didn't end up attacking each other. We didn't lose anyone here:

The scale of destruction was mainly due to the fact that we were promised we would be left alone, and then we got raided the same week. I'd also like to say that we first asked just for the heads of the two guys that raided us and killed our LS, and only when we didn't get them did we resort to this.

Anyway, I hate to wreck other people's work, but we can't just bend over and take it. It's our hope that this shows how raiding us results in net loss, and that Xanadu will once again consider the peace terms we offered after the first raid on us. Namely, leave us the hell alone, and we'll leave you alone. And when I say us, I mean anything in the D4 supergrid.

Also, I tip my hat to the Xanadu's combat crew. When they've realized they're being raided they didn't log out like a bunch of pussies, they grouped up and defended their place. When our 5 guys were attacked by their 7-8, it was really intense.

LOL
Thanks for the post.
Looks like Xanadu "griefed" in the wrong place this time.
Nice to see a town fighting back. (and winning)

Nice job guys, this is how you defend against raiders or at least show them not to mess with you again. Would have loved to be in that fight.

This was the mother of all battles and was actually the most excitement this game could muster. We need more of this but the combat system and perm death makes a lot of people want to avoid any PvP at all costs.

Anyways...
The first raid was on a Russian claim, the second was another personal claim to which we found a key for the gates in an unguarded house. Your lawspeaker did not die from some chat bug if he is claiming that. He ran until he was out of stamina then just stood there and died.

So 2 personal claims are raided and this results in an entire town burned to the ground. World 3 is turning out to be fun times so far.

this is how you have to react, when your people get victims of crimes. it will show the world, that crimes don´t pay off.

i`m glad your LS got avenged. great job people.
