Champions Arena [read inside]

Postby XE23K13L » Fri Apr 23, 2010 4:55 pm

Alright so i was thinking to myself about how an arena in the D4 grid would be pretty cool. So then i thought why not make one?

The Arena of Champions:
So basically im thinking that i can build it atop the desert terrain so that we don't have tons of random bears boars etc. people will spar train their skills and other people can place bets on their favorite fighters.

the only issue is the supplies and good honest people to run the betting house etc.
i want to know what you in the forums think about this idea.

:3

so post awayyyy.

I think it's a nice idea..
Dunno how it would work in practice though, but it would be a nice landmark, at the least.

Combat just ends when one of the parties would have gone KO
Amost no way to see for an outsider. Unless you *really* look hard at the combat action symbols, and see who got the last hit.

1. There should be an arena at Constantinople. Could have regular weekly bouts with contestants signing up and pairing off. It would become a good market day then.

2. The loser of a bout gets a pool of blood under them don't they? Either way, agree that there should be some clear winner. I want to say "the loser should fall unconscious for 10 seconds" but that does open it up to exploit (Do some friendly sparring, knock them out, then decide to kill them - but then again, maybe that's not a bad thing given trust and the wild, be aware nature of the game etc...).

You can see the damage from the last hit in a spar, so whoever takes damage last is the loser.
I forget if there's blood or not.

You could even go further and suggest implementation of arena system. It sounds interesting.

Law speaker (for example) could be able to put up special kind of limited size (square shape?) "claim". It could not be placed over existing buildings or overlapping any other claim. No buildings could be built on it. Sparring on that claim would trigger appearance of numeric values over contestants heads (for easier tracking of situation by fighters and those who watch). Numeric values in form: last move score/aggregate score. Could be very interesting for some folks, yet real and pretty simple to implement. It shouldn't have any additional function outside comfy overview of matches.

Addition: Those who leave this "claim" while sparring get their score reseted.
