Raided and fought back? Success stories

Postby arriel » Thu Apr 29, 2010 8:49 am

This forum and what I hear from my friends had led me to believe most raids out there if not all are successfull on assailant`s part.
Recently I was told it is not the case, and there are lots of examples when raiders were successfully fought back and killed.

So, anyone want to share such experience? Or even heard of one?

I`m not talking here about newbs killed near Sodom, when said newbs didn`t even trespass, meh.

During the good old days, we once "fough back" Josan and his buddy Fluffy (lman?).

Though it was more of a trap, since we not only knew that they were coming, but also had them supplied arms ourselves.

Does that count?

Supplies part made me giggle. Was it on a previous map or this one?

Bottleneck chased off Xanadu raiders. We lost one character, and suffered some damage, though.

Really, though, there is more to defenses than fighting off raiders. Preventing people from even attempting a raid is harder to see, but much more valuable.

Not to mention the political maneuvering and rhetoric that comes with preventing people from considering a raid is fun and adds depth to the game.

Raids are tedious waste of time, and there is no fun to be had in them.

The fun comes from the drama.
