I think you can add a zero to the number of cast you offer.

Nobody who needs to trade for cast iron is likely to have 8 silk cloths just lying around. While 10 cast may be a fair price to a newish, mineless player for a single cloth, you'll have to make a much better offer if you want large amounts of silk fast.

Back in the previous world I was making a living selling silk. Sold one merchant robe for 36 wrought, another for 12 steel. The price may have dropped now, but I seriously doubt anyone would sell a silk cloth for measly 10 cast.

I'm in his village, and I'm pretty sure that he meant to put "silk thread" not cloth.
