Of course he is.

Since this is the trade subforum, I'll offer you a crane - for free! - to put the thread back on topic, since it obviously derailed somewhere in your cock-blocked mind. I blame Chris Hansen. (Whoever he is.)

Thurrok wrote:A new chance for every mineless hunter and farmer appears!

Namely, to trade foods for iron!

Q: How sick is that?
A: So sick that it might blow your mind!

The trade goes like this: TWO chests (72 slots) filled with different types of NON-MEAT (exception: Bear) food for ten bars of cast iron or SIX chests (216 slots) for ten bars of wrought iron. Nuggets for chests can be pre-ordered if necessary.

There is a limit of max 10 items per food type and max 5 of agi foods (see list below), though (except with mussels and cavebulbs  ). Preferable are: Ants, Mussels, Blueberries, Chanterelles, Brill, but in fact it can be anything you have. Bear meat should be uncooked or of good quality. See below for a list of things I DO NOT WANT.

This offer might soon end (mining = boring) so get you iron while it's hot! Trade location: Constantinople, or at one of our villages in the SW grids.

Q of the metals you would receive is 30-32. PM me if you are interested.

Also on offer:
  • Bronze, Tin or Copper
  • Q54-52 soil
  • Q40-37 clay or bricks (in limited amounts tho, I won't go dig up three thousand bricks because that's boring as hell)

Details:

A list of items of which I only take 5 per trade:

  • Ant Larvae
  • Aphids
  • Boar Baloney
  • Cellar Cheddar
  • Creamy Camembert
  • Crepe Citrouille
  • Delicious Deer Dog
  • Fox Fuet
  • Honey Bun
  • Pommace Perdue
  • Pumpkin Flesh
  • Ring of Brodgar (dough variant)
  • Roasted Rabbit Meat
  • Running Rabbit Sausage
  • Sacrebleu
  • Tame Game Liverwurst
  • Wonderful Wilderness Wurst
  • Some of the new foods like Perched Perch

What I do not need at all:

    Raw/Roasted Meats: All except Bear

    Black FEPs:
  • Onions
  • Rat on a Stick

Lol, slave labor.

Dear ViciousGamer... excuse me for the harshness of the four letters that I will end this sentence with, but in my humble opinion, they seem to be the most fitting: STFU.

I do not know how much time you have spent browsing through these threads, but I can assure you, digging a thousand units of clay for a few cast irons is way closer to slave labor than my offer. I also feel the need to remind you, or everyone else accusing me of noob slavery, of the times before you had a mine: tons of unprocessed foods of any kind, but no grinder/frying pan to process them. Hundreds of chanterelles and blueberries, (as of recently) cooked mussels aplenty, but no way to get rid of them. Ask some of my (seemingly satisfied) clients, I'm almost sure they won't disagree on this.

What I am doing here is basically helping ironless people get some serious LP, metals, and underbid quite a few other offers. FYI 1 hour of cooking foods gave me about 30000 LP today, no less. Compare that to clay digging. Add the LP gain for farming/hunting/collecting the raw mats and you'll note that this hasn't got anything to do with "slave labor".

Also, you are always free to open a new thread and underbid me, as I am sure you find the task of mining more entertaining than I do. Also, don't forget the massive LP boost it gives your character. What was the LP again for filling 2 smelters (~10 casts)? 2500 LP? Really nice tradeoff!

tl;dr, so here's the summary: Don't like my offer? Then GTFO the trade forums and go farm some more linens for your Iron Lords.

Though I imagine it was a (poor) joke made in passing, I do have to assert that food production being referred to as 'slave labor' is incredibly absurd, so absurd it gives me the gleeful chortles. Wheat production alone is a tidy LP gain, and converting it to dough just adds up more. The only real issue I have with food production is actually baking it (jorbtar implement bigger ovens)

I had an enormous surplus of food since my villagemates have been less active lately and there's no way I can eat what I produce by myself, and Thurrok's need coincided perfectly with the last bits of iron I needed to round out my collection. Seriously, if your pantry isn't full to bursting, you're not trying hard enough or have a whole buncha friends. (Or find the whole process dead boring which I could see.)

I still have a crapton of wheat flour, though. Forget cocaine, that's the white powder that will ruin your life. (jorbtar implement flour sacks)

Anyway, point is - satisfied customer.

Thurrok's buisseness here is legitamate, as well as extremely beneficial for both sides.
I had no metal before this, and with trading my un needed food to him, have gained much needed metal.

I thank you, thurrok, for providing an easier way for new players and hermits alike to gain metal.
