We struck gold! (an iron mine) *Trading thread

Postby Ninijutsu » Mon Jul 12, 2010 7:47 am

My friend and I have just found an iron mine. As we move our sliders to industry and load up our cupboards with ore ripe for the smelting, I figured "Hey, let's sell this stuff!". There are a few things we are in need of.

Quality | Item

40+ | Shield
20+ | Any food that raises strength (and only strength)
N/A | Silk Cloth
60+ | Bricks
N/A | Travelers Sacks
N/A | Gold Nugget
200+ | Sling/Bow
70+ | Stone Axe

*We're not sure what the quality of the bars will be when we make them, will update with information when our sliders are all industry*

All prices are negotiable. PM me with what you would like to sell and how much cast/wrought iron you would like for it.

All trades will be done in Constantinople.

....
industry determines the chance of ore turning into bars BUT its determined at the moment you MINE the ore.

so you might want to wait with stockpiling ore.

>:O

...Shit. I guess we have a tad of a dilemma here. Good thing there's plenty more ore where that came from.

Bar quality is equal to the average of the charcoal and the smelter. So get planting trees, and looking for clay, soil, and water, and you'll have a good head start on the quality.

In my experience the quality of the klin you use to make the bricks and coal is the most important factor in the entire process so try to get a hold of at least 45x good ql clay from some major city for your klin and then cook all the bricks and coal you use in there.

Also get a good ql bonesaw, make boards from standard tree trunks (keep in mind that your carpentry skill will cap the ql of the obtainable boards) and cook those in the klin(1 piece of coal is enough to cook the boards, 2 pieces if you want to cook blocks of wood instead) to get the best coal.
For more info look around the forum, but this should get you going.
