This is not exactly a free choice from my side. To know if I want to read something I have to read it first, and after that I can never unread it nor get back effort I put into moving cursor in case of spoilers. But it is completely free choice for poster and bans for unnecessary usage of spoiler could motivate them to do the right choice.
