What happened durring world 3? Its a geniune question. I played a little w5 but didn't get serious till world 6. Everyone talks about the previous worlds like they were the good ol days. I'm curious as to the history of HnH in regards to patch changes and fluxuation of the community. Paint me a picture. Please?

People were acting like actual human beings rather than 12 year old CoD players. Diplomacy was a pretty big deal, and having good PR was important.

Really? Sounds awesome.

Maybe that's why some old players still haven't given up this game. Perhaps they hope, vainly or not, that things will change.

I think the only difference would be the amount of attention the community were getting from the devs in those early worlds. People stuck around and enjoyed the builder aspects of the game instead of trying to find enjoyment bashing skulls in the later worlds. Although the community have become more bloodthirsty its not the fault of anyone for things being the way they are, its just different, nothing else. Death is simply something every hnh player experience and it makes you smarter.

OP is just not cut out for this kind of perma-death gameplay but if he stuck around he would probably learn a thing or to about haven. Example comes in different flavors like that noob that dies to his first bear, that guy that buys swimming or mines without a mining helm. Even complexer decisions as the noob settlements that suddenly erect a brickwall after there first raid or the choice to stop leaving scents so carelessly. OP is simply put a quitter, but if he stuck around he would most likely never die to other players the same way again and grow smarter.

Edit: Potjeh I disagree, that stuff is still around in the game except its not very openly discussed and shown in ICA. Nowdays it happens more behind closed doors in skype conferences and hidden meetings then posted for everyone to read.

I'm not so sure about that; in w3 people would get LP by repeating same task over and over again.
You could get some LP by murdering someone, but, often, that wasn't as important as what you'd get by using a bot and keep crafting baskets...

I believe that's why players were more 'humans' and were spending more time grinding LP than murdering.

Now with curiosities it's a totally different concept. In late worlds bashing a noob you get some sweet curios, and it is often way faster than raiding an anthill.
In w3, killing a noob you had very few XP.

Also, this is an old world, and the few people left are bored, so when they see someone they can easily kill before getting back to their bunker, they go for it. A little moment of fun in a week of boredom.

Now to the OP, when you have your village up and safe, build alts and feed them with curios. Especially for explorers and hunters because they tend to die relatively often. You won't be as mad as you are now, knowing a good character is behind.
Also read forums, learn of villages weaknesses, attack small villages by yourself, you'll understand how you can make your place safer.

The simple fact that you are getting mad on the forums, with your 2 posts overall, means that you love this game, and you loved your character.
Keep playing and learn from that death.
Honestly there'll be more deaths incoming if you are willing to learn, but everytime you'll learn something new, and you won't learn the funniest part of this game on its wiki.
