juhubert wrote:so, after having read the whole threadthere are a few questions remaining. just questions, not more, since your empire is not interfering with our supergrid and our policy.

you are recruiting villages just on your supergrid? or are you extending it to your adjacent grids also?

if a village is up and running, happens to be on your supergrid, what force would you use to get it into your empire, if they are not willingly to join you? diplomacy? brute force up to raid, kill and salt?

are you planning to add every single village and hermit or small sttlement in your supergrid under your control? are you caring for allies and such or are you adding them anyway?

- it is looking like pretty much the supergrid only. although in one direction we are over the line, and in another we dont even go that far.
so roughly a supergrid. it is a geological decision of landmasses and river networks where we have plans. no plans to expand further.

-there are no more founded villages on the supergrid (our rough supergrid sized territory). we have taken them all within our territory goals.
2 villages were not willing to join freely. so we nearly destroyed them, the remaining players in them that decided otherwise at one point were allowed to keep the village for themselves while joining the empire, while the conflicting players died or left in a rage.

-the camps and hermit settlements, not quite all of them contacted yet. but soon.
our strategy with those are very different. they are told that founding a village will require them to join up or die.
or a single player living completely alone, we dont expect anything out of at all, ever. he may trade with one of our states freely. but will never have access to a mine (within this territory) unless he joins the empire.

-------------------------

to clear things up for those with any confusion left.

benefits we offered when they joined;
-every village/camp/settlement is allowed access to any mine for any metal, any time.
-anyone can call upon the entire empire for defense at any time, if players are within the territory and looting or attacking them.
we have had 2 revenge annihilation's so far of villages. but because of the locations, we didn't add them to the empire.
-everyone is given access to Q items we find and make. so no trading is needed, ever.

basically we have done our expanding. our long term goal is to work better as a full body empire and defend against other empires.
the problem is, there isn't any. only a few villages that are allies. not much to look forward to.
any asshole can fight at a village. but i drool over border fights, with our outpost encampments alerting 120 players of incoming boating party.

well, there are several ways to form bigger factions. one is an empire - declaring itself as one. the other one is building alliances, starting from trading relationship to a full pact of mutual assistance. these are just different approaches of the towns and their leaders. being the ls of our town, i consider myself primus inter pares, not ruling overlord. same or similarstrategy is carried out ,when dealing with other villages and towns. i don´t want to rule them, just have a good relationship. but that doesn´t mean, that alliances like ours wouldn´t be able to quickly raise troops, when needed to aid each other.

as i said, we are just playing two different sides of a coin. but don´t underestimate an alliance, just because it doesn´t name itself empire.

We have scouted out an area, thanks to a town, who has suppiled us with maps and we have begun to set up an area.

bisjac wrote:you guys must have some shitty strategy when village taking. but its understandable, your villages have like a total of 8 people online at any one time.
you think all fights are about the skills of a few players and 1on1 fights.

we arent stupid, we dont have some free for all battleground when we break into walls.
the great fighters clearly will fight. while the noobs will ram buildings and destroy random things.
we dont even arm half the people that go, they have jobs that require them to just bring along glue, food, and snuffs.

the strategy is about making the village unlivable, due to nonstop destruction and looting. no plan to stop till they leave or join.
this may not even require a single death at all, but may be far more successful.

whats a death going to do? inconvenience you? that's not a win strategy.
that's not some sole plan to conquering.
we have camps and villages of many players, half of which have little or no stats. and we have them still help out in the ways they can.

i mean wtf do you think? i just order everyone to grind up lvl200 combats? lol... i have an empire to run, i work with what i have, and make what i have effective.

bisjac wrote:our strategy and our village creed is very confusing, and you all heard broken bits and pieces of it.
but it has been 100% successful. with 100% security, and 100% happy players from every village with us.

Just have to bump this. Always nice to see when Mr.Know-it-all-noob arrives in the real world.

The first quote is when he called my strategies out with no arguments at all and just trash it. ._.
Managing a large area is a PitA imo and bisjac is a not-so-subtle reminder why.
If you keep focusing on the shadow behind, you will not see the light in front of you.

Being successful isn't just about hard work and succeeding, it is also about picking yourself up when you fail.
