Modding.
MODDING.
Not abusing the shit out of ability to use bots ( = one person playing as hundred of them in the terms of profit).

Thats why botting is so prevalent in haven as you can add your own content

Oy vey, would you care to explain what do you add by botting the shit out of everything?
You get unlimited profit by having dozens of bots doing all the labour for you.
You save a shitload of time by the same.
Do you add something? Maybe new items? Or at least new game mechanics features? Nope, I don't think so, it's simply impossible.

It's also funny to see that pathetic excuse "hey, I'm a codemonkey so it's kinda fun to me, but I don't care about everyone else kthxbai". I'm wondering what would all codemonkeys say if a guy of a different profession will use his knowledge in his favor against them somehow.

Whats the difference? In the end both modify game features/mechanics.

Of course not.
Modding the client is actual modding.
Botting the shit out of every lake and swamp is not.

For someone like me coming from a FPS Shooter (BF) modding background (AIX, PR etc.) aimbots aren't modifying ;)
(Especially when you spend month over month and endless discussions in creating balanced maps)

Anon i was fun poking a bit on this - think about the "closed usergroup" clients - and the countermeasures that "codemonkeys" build in to protect it from "unauthorized" players ... to me it's different having bot scripts openly usable for everyone and seeing screenshots with blanket client version ...

while i still think it's up to everyone what he individually is using as long there's no straight rule set and policing that

Except modding the client doesn't add anything to the game, just makes it easier to forage, farm, and do everything else pretty much...
Not sure if I see your logic here
Your custom client, for example, may make it easier to, say, pick up shit from the floor, or see in the dark, or forage.
Xcom's custom client makes it easier to farm, craft curios, eat food.
What is the difference?
Also what the fuck does this have to do with screenshots

The difference is in profit obtained from this features.
I'm not using bots, therefore my gameplay profit is always equal or less than max profit obtainable by using a default client.
I simply can not forage bluebells 24 hours a day or mine using ten characters at once.
Botter can do whatever the fuck he wants limited only by his hardware and coding abilities. Forage using 10 bots? Hell, why not. Harvest a supergrid large wheat field? Easy! And what's most important, all of that is achieveable without actually playing it ( = spending time).
Do you see a difference? I see a hell of a difference, mate.

For someone like me coming from a FPS Shooter (BF) modding background (AIX, PR etc.)

Wait, do I see a fellow prfag?

So, you only judge the bots that do things that aren't possible without them?
I had the impression you also judge things like farmer bots, starving bots, etc., the ones for which you stay in front of your computer while they're being used.
