Some people are a little slower then others. Don't put them down just because you know this game like the back of your hand.

The issue is that, that slowness is going to get them killed. They're not competent at battle and yet they're a small band trying to fight for the freedom and safety of the many. You need experience to fight raiders. You need strong tactics, good equipment, and the learning points for the skills necessary to win combat without casualties. If they are just barely getting ranging, they don't even have rage yet -- let alone murder; these are staples on top of the 100+ MM and UA/Melee you'll need to hunt down most criminals. That's like saying they're going to do this without a special client to extent their visual range or give them x-ray vision. Those are such standards now that anyone who doesn't have them is a duck dead in the water.
