I believe when a troll spawns, it uses it's first move which is a move to give it +3 or +5 advantage and 6-9 IP followed by an attack. Either way, not a good start, so you best run friend

If you look at his join date, probably. Could be pretty strong so he might call some friends to finish him off.
Depends on how strong he is, but I doubt he can handle a troll if this is his first account (knowing that getting to know everything in HnH takes a while)

It should engage near instantly if I'm correct. The best you can do is make sure your miner has somewhere between 200-400 ua minimum to be able to take a hit or two from the troll when escaping.

Good question, I wish I could answer it accurately. I've never engaged a troll myself and do not know how hard they hit for, but I think being in a situation where armour doesn't matter because they can't break defence is probably better than actually taking damage. Remember unarmed attacks penetrate armour by a percentage so health would be another factor needed to be brought into account.

So I guess what I'm saying is that having a solid UA bypasses the need to have high level armour and health. If you want that extra defence, A rough estimate I think is that having over 1000 AC should stop everything but the % penetration they have. Again, this isn't based off solid findings and is just an attempt at answering your question.

A bit of correctly on Kaizo's information. The troll may randomly use a move that gives it +2 advantage each time and it will use twice so that it has +4 advantage. One thing I am not certain though is if it will use this move if its advantage is still +3 or does it have to be +2.
