about quality of trees

Postby Special-K » Sat Dec 04, 2010 12:02 pm

couldn't find any guide about tree's q, so decided to test it:
1) "model": t.pot(67)+soil(63)+water(55)+h.table(156)+seed(86) = 88
2) "soil": t.pot(67)+soil(10)+water(55)+h.table(156)+seed(86) = 79
3) "water": t.pot(67)+soil(63)+water(10)+h.table(156)+seed(86) = 84
4)"seed": t.pot(67)+soil(63)+water(55)+h.table(156)+seed(108) = 100
5) "h.table": t.pot(67)+soil(63)+water(55)+h.table(309)+seed(86) = 104

calculating:
soil (63-10)/(88-79)=5.8
water (55-10)/(88-84)=11.25
h.table (309-156)/(104-88)=9.5
seed (108-86)/(100-88)=1.8

PS: test of tree's quality in different stages of growing:
st.2 - q16(38%) / st.3 - q25(59.5%) / st.4-q33(78.5%) / st.5-q42(100%)

hmm.. the quality of trees is floating.. planted 3 willows with same ingridients:
t.pot(67)+soil(69)+water(55)+h.table(165)+seed(87)
and the result quality are 86, 88 and 90

they must have a random aspect to them like crops and cattle... or it might be(not likely) that the tiles around them affect quality

It would have proven your point much better and also proven you really do understand how to fight people and not only how to slaughter helpless sheep.

they have a slight +/- at the end just like crops, this has already been established

The amount of the +/- however, has not been. It would take someone planting the same exact quality ingredients many times (100+ for starters, 1000 is more accurate) to find the +/- on trees. I assume it's something like +/- 5.

I know you can use this to brute force pass your plateaus but it's a pain in the arse. It also makes finding the exact formula a real pain in the arse, unless you it that way I said to find the +/- overall, then you can't find the actual origin number to make sure your calculation is correct and test it with other qualities (also repeatedly, or just to make sure they fall in range, if you want to be sloppy).

i think loftar said it was the same amount of variance as crops, but really, who cares. it's roughly +/- 5.

Well if it's -/+5, which I believe it is, then we just need to work out enough of a single quality to get some numbers.

76.4 +/- 5 = 71.4 to 81.4

Lets say that the game keeps decimals, and maximize them (ie. 67.99, 63.99,10.99 -unlikely, 156.99, and 76.99.) The average of those plus 5 is 82.39.

If this is not a typo, then the equation +/-5 doesn't hold up.

Your equation is most likely wrong.

I'm fairly certain (as are others) that the herbalist table comes into the equation later.

first equation includes: tree pot, soil, water, seed

Second equation includes: First equation's result (preparedPot) and Herbalist Table
