How to?
I've noticed they drastically reduced the lp gained from making buckets ...

Could've fooled me. In the beginning, you get LP by foraging and hunting, which is exactly what Potjeh told you.
Don't have a weapon? Creating one might help. Can't see forageables? Raise exploration.
