with the curios, you get LP no matter what you are doing. the purpose of building a road is not to get LP, but to have a road.

The old system allowed you to destroy the world, and get rewarded for it. Tear down forests, pave over grasslands, get rewarded. It left itself open for bots, which would just roam the world felling trees and amassing LP, ruining huge swathes of land and allowing anyone to become extremely powerful with no effort.

Currently, you must work for your gains. That road isn't going to magically give you carpentry skill. The road will allow you to travel from your village to the river easier, like a road is supposed to do. Destroying a forest won't give you LP, but it will allow you to build a wall. Things are slightly more realistic now, and encourage smart use of resources. Personally, I'd like to be able to gain skill through repetition, fire enough arrows and gain some marksmanship skill. This would start to open bot abuse again though.

Of course, OP looks like he was a botter, so I dunno why I'm wasting my time saying any of this...

There is a certain way to teleport to the older realms some may now call The Underworld.
Get it? Since it's unde-...forget it.
You must first give a taste to the new LP system to acquire enough to get the Swimming skill.
Then you must find one of those Cross-marks in lakes and take a swim in one directly, a tab should pop up with a message "Are you sure you want to do this?"
Answer with "Yes".
But the old system sucked, so there isn't much players in the Underworld :/

Don't kid yourself, you didn't get anything out of it before either.
At least now you can study curiosities while building that road and be on par rather than building the road instead of grinding/botting lp and falling behind.

I do miss the manpork hunting LP though. Nothing like getting a extra bit of LP from killing that greifer that rushed murder with only like 10 UA.
