well, of course you can rather buy some cavebulbs and everything else
so the only thing all villagers should do is collecting mussels and getting pearls so they can buy everything :D

Good guide, well written and informative!
I'd like to note that since Cooking and Hunting (and Foraging) all share Perception as main stat its a good idea to combo Hunters to be the Cook(s) as well.

although we have had hunters who cook, but mostly sausages because storage always filled up when we had active hunters, it's often not the greatest idea, since hunters are always out and exposed to danger, so there's a higher risk of your hunter getting killed than your cook. when u have separate characters then its not much of a loss to the town. Plus a cook works the whole time theyre ingame, especially for bigger towns, cause food is so important to raise stats.

I'd rather doing things that i like to get pearls, some productive project.
For examples: spamming steels, wrought irons. That is where trades takes place

So far yes, that there is a village whom all villager all collects pearls just to shop some goods from veteran traders.
And from ramones's experience, he even said that there is customer, even before his trade thread opens. The customer is rushing to get as many mussels at the beginning of the world for pearl, for future trades with ramones (although this customer does not really know if ramones even playing or not)
It is nothing really wrong about it but, it feels a bit empty. Balancing by oneself gameplay trough finding pearls and do some uber production is where the 'Balance' takes place.

And yes, there is 2 different way to enjoy the game though, but you cannot avoid that using efforts to get pearls somtimes is more productive than produce it by yourself due to veteran traders usually provides everything with cheaper price (in pearls). Furthermore, if we have a very limited playtime, we could also experience the other content which is un-reachable trough this method.
For Example: "Darn i cant mine ! have no enough str ! WTS> q100+ pick 3 pearls"
Obvious, i want to mine but i dont have time to grind enough str nor get a better pick. With q100 pick, q150+ bearcape. Even a newly born alts could mine most of L1 areas, and if not, add some forge rings. (Total spendings = 4 pearls without forge rings) for be able to mine freely at L1, not a bad trade. 4 Pearls is not really hard.

But likewise stated, the game content is intended to be explored, furthermore trying everything is necessary.
Everything the light touches, is my kingdom.

Sorry for necroing, but I have another thing to add.
Communal village? Fair leader, but hoarding community?
Give only trespassing rights in the public curio house. Every time someone takes a curio he leaves a theft scent.
Why, you ask?
Because you can track those scents every now and then, back to the stolen items. If they're nowhere to be found, they're in study. If you find them, that means the guy who took them did it for no reason (didn't put in study) and then he can be summoned, exiled, or done to whatever the rules about hoarding are.
Simple, good against hoarders.
