I wonder how long you can have animal corpses laying around before they disappear. Is the time the same for all animals and does it matter if they are skinned or butchered?

AFAIK 8 hours for complete disappearance of unskinned, unbutchered carcass

same for all - AFAIK skinng and butchering reduces the "stay" time

That's what I've heard aswell.

They have stages of decay, and decay a "layer" each time. I can't verify this but I'm fairly sure it takes 8h to decay the skin, then 8h for meat/intestines then finally 16h for the bones (I could be off, it's been a long time)

Looks like we have to run a practical test to verify the decay times...

right now we have: 6 hourish (Cobaltjones), 8 hourish (jordancoles), 8 hours and finally 32 hours for a carcass complete decay

They take one ingame day to decay to bones, and then three ingame days to decay into thin air.

So that means beginning from the kill, 8 hours for the skin and meat to decay and 1 day to completely decay.

I distinctively remember 8/24 hours but I had to verify itself.

I also remember loftar mentioning something about it so I used the search key animal decay with author loftar since I dinstinctively remember loftar mentioning something about it.

Also, can you add to the wiki that trees terraform a tile per growth stage?

it was accurate in w3, but are you all sure it hasnt changed since then?
im afraid the decay time after bones has changed since w4/5. but i can be wrong, people stopped killing animals for lp with the curio system.
