I do not believe there has never been any mention of changes to this since the implementation. Of course this does not include any undocumented "ninja" changes so it can never be 100% certain unless loftar confirms it in this world.

Those numbers I got weren't done on an specific timer but it was me noting things back in w4. Honestly though, I could easily be wrong so I'm not going to say they are 100% verified to be correct.

i once tried checking it, since i stopped seeing any animal skeletons left anywhere.
i left a few dead mouflons sometime in w5, and the very next day they were always all gone, not even a bone.
but oh well, i usually play with those who never waste any resources :?

btw, loftar does/did some ninja changes time to time, and sometimes he doesnt remember.

Oh thanx Tonky - i usually picked up all dead mouflons that where lying around with noone fetching them up... :D

and that Loftar ninja change sentence would make a nice sig ;)

I think it's still this 8 hour (skin, meat) plus 24 hour final decay is it - i got that 8 hours for "my butchering time window" in mind when my villagers (defunct W6 village) used to drop hunted animals for me to butcher and not always told me - i was farming all time and not looking at the drop spot, so some where down to bones when i did...another villager used to leave the animals in boats telling us about a day later and we found nothing in boats... ;)

I'm sure it's probably been asked before but my mind was going numb after reading 30 pages of questions. Anywho I was simply wondering if it's possible to host your own server or if this is purely a single server game?

The actual source code of the client is released under the GNU LGPL, which means that you're basically free to do whatever you want with it, as long as you yourself continue releasing it under the GNU LGPL. That would include building a new game server of your own devise and hosting a new game using the same client. We don't mind—that would basically be a new game anyway, and we might even enjoy playing it! More importantly, having access to the client code allows you to modify the game UI to fit you better, or to fix bugs that may be peculiar to your system or any other issue that may be important to you.

I had seen that post but was hoping it was more for modders and that there was a pre-made server program. Thanks for the information though.

You probably need to discover string first. Try to forage a taproot/nettle or harvest from flax/hemp. Just picking it up when dropped or container won't work. I assume you probably discovered branch by taking it off a tree.
