If you're thinking of leaving one for public use, I would like to advise you that people frequently steal from them. Leave only a few items at a time there.
The stands are on our village claim within the walls. The idea was to give each craftsman an idea of what was in demand. I thought it would be preferable to being badgered for specific items the instant they logged in.
