any easy/fast/reliable way to get a lot of clay? I'm starting on building a brickwall, but the 2k+ bricks I need are gonna take forever, as I don't seem to be near a clay node (digging on river banks returns one clay, and then stops)

Buy them. Seriously, it'll be so much easier if you can't find a node.

I believe you have 8hours before it decays to bones. After that you have a day before the bones decay.

I believe you have 12 hours before it decays to bones. After that you have several days before the bones decay.

It should be 8 hours for meats and hides to decay, then 24 hours for bones to decay.

how safe is it to milk my cow? I currently have one cow ( as tamed, so all quantities/qualities 10), and it has one calf to look after. The wiki warns me I should not milk her too much, since the calf needs milk too.

and now i'm afraid to milk her at all (don't want to lose my first ever calf!). How much do calves drink? Should I just wait until it is fully grown ?

They don't drink too much. I'd say a litre an hour? You can just put milk in a barrel and milk the cow for your needs and if the barrel starts to get low start putting milk in it, calves drink from barrels.

sadly, according to the wiki my cow only produces .6 litres an hour, so she wouldn't be able to feed the calf ? i'll just milk it and toss it in a barrel and see didn't know they could drink from barrels. Can they tele-feed like cows/bulls and troughs, or do they need to access the barrel ?

The barrel radius is about the same as a trough and can tele-feed, the litre/hour is probablly a bit high, if you leave the milk in the barrel it should be fine.
