Afaik removing a mine support always cause cave-ins, but you could always use a fresh alt to destroy it.

You can however, USE certain structures (H-Tables, Barrels) record the starting items Q and use the quality formulas to work it out.

1. Yes, if you know the formula, check the products' quality and calculate.
