Only the offspring will be affected if your fodder quality is lower than the chickens. So your high q chickens wont go down at all.

So you can feed high q chickens low q fodder and they wont get any lower q? Im talking about parents, not off spring.

Yes, i was also talking about the parents. Their quality will never go down unless you butcher them with low survival. Only the chicks will go down if the quality fodder is lower than the chicken

Not true, both parents and child can lose quality from low quality fodder. There is no visual representation for this though, it'll still display them as high quality, they will just produce low quality off-spring and products, making them effectively a lower quality.

It is important to give both parents and child fodder that's higher quality than them. Children also cannot gain quality, they are stuck with what they got from their parents genes. =)

Okay So Let Me Get This Straight, When A Chicken Eats Lower Q Fodder Its Like An Animal Starving (Without The Death Part) So Its Original Q Stays The Same And Offspring/Products Are Lowered? If Thats True, Is The chicken Quality Lowered To The Fodder Quality?

It lowers over time but it will eventually go as low as the quality of the food, yes.

Okay, so I don't actually remember entirely but I believe the leather did not effect the quality. So it was just the steel bars, hammer and anvil, and it was softcapped by your (str+blacksmithing)/2. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

So I have a half-built ram outside of my wall. Can I destroy it in some way?
It's just the signpost, but it's half-built.
