Nothing to worry about, I think that's where we're all confused. The wiki says it hardcaps but if you test it you see that it does not.

Is this setup of cupboards the most efficient at the moment? Note the cellar entrance right under the character's feet.

Close. But 22 cupboards is the max for a Timber House.

(6 west, 6 east, 5x2 rows in center)
Your kinda using a rotated version of that. and your door is taking the space of number 22.

I finally acquired a sword recently, but have been unsucessful using it. I figured I would start out on rabbits and move up from there, but when I use "sting" or "valorous strike" it don't even start aggro- any help?

You need to stock 2 IPs for sting or 6 IPs for valorous strike.

sting and valorous strike consume "influence points" which players call IP or coins

you need to gain IP before you can spend it
