I believe bears can't destroy log cabin. At least last time I checked they couldn't.

There's a bear inside my fence, what is the most risk-free way of exterminating it?
I have built inland, so running to water is out of the question. I live in a forest.

If you have a rat/bunny/frog/chicken, and about 100 or 200 UC, Get inside the house, gain 6 IPs and full intensity on the little one, go outside and punch the bear, get back inside and flex, then repeat. If you are fast enough you should be able to repeat the whole process without leaving combat with the animal inside.

@Borka, Ohh, I see. Would there be any harm in me using my farmer as lawspeaker for the place even though he'd be living in another village?

You can be LS of a village, and live in another village at the same time, if you have the rights to do stuffs on pclaim, but you cannot be a villager.

Depends on the quality of your sling. If your damage output isn't high enough to one shot deer, level your MM to double the quality of sling and keep trying. Get a better sling, I think something like Q100 and 200 MM will do. Also, lure your target away from the other deers 'cause they would heal hurt animals around them. Visit AfO forum and buy a sling, people sell decent quality slings for cheap price.

Smithy's hammer and anvil softcap wrought iron quality. And don't forget that str and smithing also softcap its quality.

Edit:
If (AnvilQ + HammerQ)/2 < W.IronQ then
((AnvilQ + HammerQ)/2 + BloomQ)/2 = W.IronQ
If sqrt(STR * Smithing) < W.IronQ then
(sqrt(STR * Smithing) + W.IronQ)/2 = final W.IronQ

Just make sure your tools' quality and sqrt(STR * Smithing) higher than bloom quality, and your w.iron wouldn't be softcapped.

For example we have anvilQ 10, hammerQ 20, and bloomQ 15.
(10+20)/2 < W.IronQ <------ i always got Q around 13-15
((10+20)/2) + 15)/2 = ?

And what is sqrt?

For example i have 150str and smithing 100 and how will that stats affect on final iron?
It will be more than W.IronQ, thats why i dont understand all formula.

(10 + 20)/2 = 15, so with these tools Q15 bloom will never be softcapped.
sqrt is square root (wiki page here, incase you don't know what's it)

Here's an example of how str and smithing affects w.iron
if you have Q15 bloom, 10 str and 15 smithing, your sqrt(str*smithing) will be ~12.25
So, (12.25 + 15)/2 = 13.625, round down to 13. And this is your w.iron quality.

No, but they will still have your name on the kin list, even if you remove them from yours.

I once watched in amazement as it happened...took him about 4 hits, but the house was pinkish red when he started.

To get to you, bears will destroy any objects obstructing their path with lower than Soak 25, meaning only Palisades, Brickwalls a wall of Strongboxes or a well placed Stone Mansion can stop bears from chasing you.

they don't have timber houses in that list, but they have a soak of 25, while log cabins only have a soak of 20...so a bear can break log cabins even though it will take some time.
