yes
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

How much space do trees with the smallest sized bases need? Is it a 3x3 area, with the tree in the center... Or more?

Trees require 5x5 space around them to fully grow where the center is the tile that you planted the tree.

@Ninijutsu, your screen cap cut off some of the text.

- It is recommended to give the tree a 5x5 space around it to completely grow. If anything with a hitbox (anything that stops you if you run into it) is within the space, the tree's growth will be stunted. This excludes pavement, water, and most crops.

Actually, that's the forum, the image is too long, and it answered his question anyway.

When I did my square palisade, I left two conner-post in the middle of the north wall so later I would be able to easily build a gate between those two later. But... I just noticed that it is not a bright idea to just left those two un-sealed. How can I deal with this problem? Keeping my palisades safe and yet still be able to later build the gate there?

seal both of them. if they have space between them, fillit up, and you'll have to ram it to build the gate.

Why not just build the gate now?

The palisade already have a gate on the south part. (it is a square with four sealed corners and the north wall has the two extra), I kept those two posts there for the hypothetical need of a second gate later on the game, but I guess sealed corners can't make gates, right? or wrong?
