If I shoot any animal using sling while standing on the shore, will it still be able to reach and attack me?

If you are in the shallow water on most shores yes. If it is the shallows that go out more than a space then no it cant reach you.

Actually it depends how you stand.
You can not-get hit on all shores.

P.S. The reason it can't reach me is because I'm not in the adjacent shallow spot as it is.
You need to be in the deepest shallow so it can't pathfind, and not at the same line of tiles as it is.
Tricky at first, you get used to it.

If you call this a bug with pathfinding, then being in a boat and hunting is an animal pathfinding bug as well.
I call this a convenient feature.

I've noticed that digging around my base with higher survival gives me soil capped at that.

Does the same apply for trying to find high q stone nodes in mountains?

I'm afraid that with my explorer alt all of the stone I dig up will be stuck at q10 until I get my survival up a ways.

All resources gathered from the wild now have their quality hardcapped by Survival.
