Does Finery Forge fuel play part in Bloom formula?

When you hit it with a smithy's hammer on an anvil, it goes either into wrought iron or cast iron. Slag, however, is only created in the finery forge. 50% chance for slag, 50% for bloom.
Then, bloom 50% for wiron, 50% for cast.
Also, I doubt fuel ever plays a part.

You will see that a mouflons deals the same damage to a bronzearmor person as a plate armor+dhelm+Q200 pants+Q200 r-boots person.
So yeah, leather armor is required, and enough UA to tank 2 hits of an aurochsen should be enough to tame safely

he asked about iron armor, so I'm guessing he has access to metals.

secondly a q10 bronze plate has 100/100 while a q60 leather armor has 61/61(or about that) so its less of a quality grind for a noob to grab bronze armor and stay protected than it is for leather.

thirdly animals get a 30%(?) armor penetration so yes you'll take the same damage no matter your armor, but your q10 bronze armor won't be broken by a mouflon while a q60 leather will.

Back again to ask another newby question.

How much of the world is forest? I set aside a couple hours to start playing this game today. I've spent basically the entire time walking around trying to find a good spot to start setting up a place to live. I wanted to live in a Broad leaf forest area, as the fruit is a good easy source of food for beginners when your getting started, but in the couple hours I spent playing, I found only 1 tiny broad leaf forest area, with only one apple tree, in a gigantic area of land owned by someone(s?) named Czorne. Do you have to spend dozens and dozens of hours walking in this game, or am I just getting unlucky?

no, its not! apples/hazelnuts have no fep value. so if you're eating apples and hazelnuts it should be because you're starving with no other food handy and no the only other reason to eat an apple is because you need the core to plant a new apple tree.

I can't answer your question about how much is forest, but the only time forest type matters is when you're planting trees as trees grow faster on native terrain(making an area where the 2 forest types merge a great place to live).

Well at the start of the game, I don't see a whole lot of food with any fep value. I can't fight animals yet, don't have a running farm, don't have a fishing rod and still have a low exploration stat, which limits me to rabbit(if I can catch them, which I cant normally), blueberries when I can find them and ant pupae when I have enough health to raid an ant hill. On top of that, I can't just stick solely to these foods, because the wiki says that if you don't level some of your stats, it ends up getting hard to level the ones lagging behind.

Although a little harsh on your stat progression, you can just eat FEPless foods/blueberries (int is great!) for a while until you get a fishing rod / some marksman and a sling.

Edit: Whoa, 2000th post.

This is only a guess but I'd say about a quarter of the world starts as forest land and changes based on how players remove trees and generally alter the terrain.
Finding a forest generally isn't considered difficult unless you're in a highly populated area and much of the land has become grassland because of industry.

Just keep walking I guess, exploration is part of the fun. =)

Only 1/4 teckx? No way. It's gotta be closer to 1/2 or 3/4 if you count both forest types.
