After I hit 20 tameness, is it fine to lead it through the gate into my village and continue taming it there? I don't see why it would be a problem, but I know wild animals don't really use open gates so I want to be sure.

100% perfectly fine.

Animals can't path-find through gates, you kind of have to lead them through. (Line them up with the gate entrance.)

they run around to open gates the same way they run around cliffs...maybe you should test it. :geek:

Twice now I have tried to trap boars and bears in the gate, both times they had to be led to the entrance straight on, otherwise they just stood by the corner posts.

anytime I open my gate with an animal trying to kill me it runs right in...of course when I do this its usually part of some large trap so maybe I'm missing some small step that would change this if it wasn't a trap :?:

will play around with it later(seem to have a lot of foxes around my place lately)

Yeah, I'll add this if it will help. Also on both occasions I initially agro'd on the south wall and gate is on the east wall. From what you are saying they should corner and find open gate, but neither did, the boar got stuck on corner wall c/p at first, I had to come back and lead him around it and then he got stuck on gate c/p -

The bear just got stuck on gate c/p but i'd led him in wider arc around wall c/p.

I think you're talking about animals that are following, and he's talking about animals that are agressive?

Despite the answer being no I wouldn't recommend this, as someone could palibash the wood walls and then use it to rebuild a little coop to house their ram for your bwall.
