1 space landed 1/20 babies outside. I'm working with 2 spaces and it seems to be perfect so far.

I've seen fence space pali space bw and animals popping up outside the bw...so maybe you're just lucky with your 2 spaces so far. hope thats 1 of the things they look into when they rework core stuff.

I make a pen within a pen. 3 spaces in between the baby proofing fence and the animals inside fence.

Had babies appear in between the two fences, but never outside both.

I kno this question will vary from player to player but after about 2weeks where should you be in the game? Without thw help of others?
And is it worth it to make gear if the quality wont be high?
Save the materials for when you can? Or make it an upgrade as you go?
I wanted to make some silk stuff but the process seems long

Depends on how much you play. Within 2 weeks at the start of w5, I had all seeds, farm animals, and a couple nice metal nodes, but think I put in 150 hours, maybe more, and the experience of setting up two other bases previously (w3 when I started and w4). Reasonable is a decent claim ready to put a palisade up (if you don't have it going already), most of the seeds for farming, and able to hunt efficiently. You might have found metal already, but if you don't have a cave, getting the leather needed for a minehole can really slow mining down. You should be able to tame animals by this point, too, if you have some newbie friendly taming grounds nearby (grasslands with a lake nearby to escape to in case something goes wrong).

Ok thanks seems like im on my way then=D although i havent tamed an animal or mined yet.
Which of the two would make a better focus?
Tameing seems a little trcky as im not that expiernced in combat. I discovered that bug where u cage an animal and damage it till it flees then it just makes 'chop' noise so thats how ive been practicing.

Animals need a good farm up and running to feed them. Learning to tame is a pain. There's a good video floating around by Lusewig, one of our old members (not sure if she plays anymore). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0XX9m6T1WQ

Mining is tricky and time consuming to get going, but you can't get the better things in the game without metals. You'll need to decide to commit to doing it or get metals you need by trading your farm goods.

Ok seems its better to be a proffesional of somthing rather then a jack of all trades, is it always safe to mine just the first layer of rock without fear of cave-ins? Im curious how i get the metal for the supports.

With a bearcape and the best q stone axe you can manage to make (hunt stone out of a local mountain) alts can usually mine lvl 1. Lot of people used those this world to get the metal for supports.
