logging out during an attack

Hey I'm trapped at the shore by a bear and I have no more rocks. The bear can't get to me but i'm still in the combat. So if I log out will i die even if the bear can't get to me?

From my own experiance you won't die but you won't actually log out either you and the bear will remain there for around 30 minutes or an hour.

It would seem to me that your presence would keep the bear there. You might stay logged on perpetually until there is a server reset, or until some passerby kills you. You may want to try swimming across the river.

The bear will actually despawn if you log out and nobody else is there to keep the area loaded. Might take 20, 30 minutes yeah.

I wouldn't try swimming across the river unless you have really really good Con.

try and walk on the tile of water
bears cant attack until they get charged up
