Palisade question

I am adding a second layer to my palisade wall and I was wondering if I build a fresh cornerpost adjacent to an existing SEALED cornerpost, will I be able to build a gate in between?

Yup, as long as one cornerpost is unsealed and you are have exactly 2 tiles of space between them.
