How do I load and unload a raft?

It gives me the options to dismantle or to avast when it is empty. It does not show me how many slots - I understand that there is only one so this makes sense

But how do I use it?

Right click raft, left click object to be loaded.

I still cannot unload it. This is to me the great frustration!

I understand now. I must be on the raft and then again right click it before I click upon the cargo.
