Is this game abandoned?

Postby zignotea » Sat Feb 21, 2015 3:18 am

I've recently started playing H&H and its been almost 5 days now and i have not met a single other player in the game, i even made a character specifically for wandering around trying to find some one so I ask, is this game abandoned? as in is there anyone still playing this game?

There's a few people playing. Server stats are on the home page: http://www.havenandhearth.com/portal/

People tend to not live close to one another and there are tons of abandoned villages and hermitages spread across the world.

If you meet someone, one of two things will normally happen. They will run or they will kill you. Rarely, not saying it doesn't happen, they will stop and chat with you.

Welcome to the game. :)

haha thanks guys, the game seems very interesting and i can see myself loving it if i could only just interact with the other hearthlings, walking around through all of these abandoned villages i feel like i came in after a cataclysmic event that wiped out humanity.

Lol, there are plenty of nice friendly players too - the world is very big and with the reduction in players quite a lot of ppl ask this but there are the regulars still, the two main factions and a lot of other towns still playing, I guess it just depends on where you are.

Take a look at the world map and once you work out where you are you can try visiting the areas that appear more active, though you will also find a lot of abandoned places.
My area is constantly getting new players so it's not totally dead yet. :D

Naa. Everyone slits everyone else's throat so people learn to live far away from each other. When others catch wind of people in their area they often run for it or teleport home immediately rather than risk meeting a raider. You can usually meet some rad people through the forums or if you explore far and wide enough in game. There are always risks though, so take care. =)

The only place I have actually met anyone so far is on the global chat. I actually made a wandering alt as well (that I wouldn't mind horribly if it got killed), so I could stop wondering if someone was going to immediately kill me if I saw them on the river. The only problem is, I haven't actually seen many people out and about.

Perhaps you should join a village in the dwarves and thieves section of the forum if you crave the social dimension of the game.

The game world is more immense than likely any game you've ever played. With an average of 130 people playing..... Yeah.

When I was a nub, I met some dhelmer from Emerald City, we stopped and chatted, and he gave me a deer. It was nice, but I can't remember his name for the life of me. We did have an interisting chat about Xcom's troll kills, which to me was a huge accomplishment, though.
