Especially since you probably just bring them to shallow water and kill them without getting hit once

The problem is that the damage is comparable to b12 but you don't need any industry to make it. It will be the dominant weapon of the next early world if it doesn't get nerfed, it's just too strong for something that's so easy to get.

Exactly, it will be a problem of new world, not current world though. It's base damage is lower than cutblade, and nobody bothers with cutblades, everybody uses b12. Even though cutblade enables sting and parry.
Meanwhile the spear can't even cleave or parry. With no penalty to melee cd and high penetration, it's exactly where it needs to be in melee.
The problem is the ability to throw it.
  • They do stupid amount of damage when thrown
  • They can be stacked and you can carry absurd number of them
Watch how nobody will use them in melee but it becomes open season for impaling hermits at range.
And of course something has to be done about their availability in early world. Narwhals aren't even strong, you can easily kill bears with tinker axe at low strength, Narwhal's armor is only 5 higher, and the drop is almost as good as steel weapons.
What needs to change:
  • Throwing 2-handed weapons is retarded and should be removed. If you want throwable spears, introduce a javelin
  • Boar spear needs to be buffed too
  • Narwhal tusk should be similar in damage to boar spear but have no armor pen
  • Current Narwhal tusk stats should be used for a purely melee 2-handed craftable spear that's made with wrought iron or steel

1) It would be helpful is brains would bundle, or stack.

2) Given the quality of my tree bark compared to my livestock, it seems like the only use as a curio, and given my int compared to their weight, probably not even that. At least they use very little xp when studied.

3) It's a bit weird that adult sheep produce brains in the same size category (tiny) as chickens and rabbits. Is this an oversight, or intended?

No discovery too
Got glue and did wood polish just in case

Don't bother - it is wood polish that I need, not rough wood polish
