The reason is so that you don't turn around when doing it while running away. Primarily meant for Take Aim, but no obvious reason why it shouldn't work for other attacks as well, no?

DonVelD wrote:you changed pursuing (literally nobody asked) yet you didnt change what people have been asking for (sos nerf)

For the record, the reason we changed it was (literally) because someone asked. For SoS, however, I've heard opinions from both ends of the spectrum. But I can only assume that those from the other end of yours have no idea what they're talking about, correct? :)

No, I used SoS and its basically the same as with prenerf jugular - too op so pvp becomes brainless. Misunderstood what the pursuit change was about tho, good change then, but still SoS needs to be nerfed lol.

Basically what the other user said, you even tried it and said it's too strong so idk what else to say. It just opens too much and is aoe, it's way too powerful in big numbers fights and requires 0 strategy to use.

Yes, it isn't OP, Cleave/Opp Knocks is still very much the meta, SoS is literally the only viable alternative to it in group combat with groups that utilize teamwork and positioning over focus fire client advantage.

This is one of those situations where SOS is "good". As in, it works really well and that's cool, but the problem is that it works too well. Like don't get me wrong, it's fun to use and not fun to be on the receiving end of; but like a lot of things in haven it trumps almost everything and fits all use cases and reduces fights down to a body count rather than stats. I think this is why there is mixed feelings about SOS as a whole. A lot of newer and casual people got to feel more useful in fights this world which is cool, but it just makes largescale fighting less interesting.

TLDR:
It works, it's good, but its too good. I like it, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't think it reduces fights down to pure body count (even more so than before).

Adjusting the openings down a smidge and/or upping ip to 4 would make it feel a lot better while still being a good pick in my opinion.

Kinda funny coming from a thread filled with snail players that have all quit, now zerging this thread complaining they lost to our Storm of Swords build.

What? Can't be, a person from a group who first used the SoS on a meteorite fight, ie. perfect usecase (and destroyed the other parties) considers it OP? Surely they just want to abuse cleave + opknock (that they destroyed without any effort).
If no changes are done, the next world zerg fights will be fought only with SoS (unless people consider it being unfun a good reason to agree to not use it, which i doubt) bcs why would you use anything else? And before WBayers bring examples of cleave/opk decks winning against SoS, it's because you can't even bring out the full potential of SoS decks (running together in a zerg without running into trees and then pressing single button on closest target).

What a great opportunity to try to forum PVP by a specific group of players who lost a war to spam the devs into trying to fuck up PVP so that only groups of people with access to a client that allows them to more easily focus fire opp knocks/cleave can have some semblance of edge again.

Are you just trying to bait someone to call you bad words (that would be completely appropriate to describe you) so your moderator can come in and warn them?

@loftar
I was allying the british group when they started using SoS and we effortlessly destroyed AD and Polska that had about the same numbers as us.

I'm saying its garbage because at that moment I knew it was too easy and i enjoy the skill involved in pvp

SoS reduces fights to numbers, aoe makes it brainless because you dont focus a target, 2ip cost makes it spammable, highest opening move btw so it fills your yellow from 0 to 70 so if you have 10 people spam it you just get steamrolled, theres no fun in numberplay but roberts followers and the guy himself will drool over the thread because they have 50 goblins with swords and who wants to use skill amirite?
