No, that is not true, people just want more control of the land to stop new players, its great to see well springs between bodies of fresh water especially when they are super far a apart, and even more so inside of caves.

May as well make trees unchoppable. Wouldn't want new players to never experience plane trees after the botters cut them all down!!

It's a decent point, I can definitely see players bashing the wellsprings around/near their villages or near enemy villages to make it more difficult for anyone not loaded on water to continue running.
