ye i like the update for everything but combat seems lame to me that once someone is behind u hitting u that ur only chance of escaping it is the dumb random spawned speed buffs and what triggers me about those is once u hit them its GUARANTEED that you do escape needs to be a balance tbh hehehehe


(I BELIEVE THE BALANCE WAS THE DRINKING WHILE RUNNING WITH CLIPPING)

Is there some way to introduce movement to combat without needing clipping? Now's the time to brainstorm.

If the downside of escape in a combat situation is that there is no loot for the pursuer... it could be fixed by making the speed boost thingies drop stuff from the character activating it.

I feel the only reasonable options is a new hearth magic or skill that blocks the speed boost for X period of time.

"trip up" - 3 IP; disables speed boost for 20 seconds. can be cast at a distance
"harsh winds" - 500xp; disables speed boost for 3 minutes, cant be cast during combat (as an aside for another thread, there should be hearth magic and combat magic, perhaps with different requirements)

(these are just examples, dont take them as set in stone)

i think literally any other option will create another weird meta game on how to properly initiate combat or run, sort of like water

toggling pushout during combat is just weird and temporary
speed boosts randomly dropping items during combat is a weird temporary fix that will just make pve difficult
disabling speed boosts all together during combat negates the whole purpose of speed boosts

Maybe the boosts could have multiple uses? (or not disappear at all but you can't get it from the same boost twice).

That way any pursuer can keep up and the challenge becomes maneuvering well enough to not miss any boosts the person being pursued also manages to get? Not sure if viable 'cause I don't really PVP, I'm mostly inspiring myself in Mario Kart now :D when not in 1st and chasing someone in 1st, sometimes you have to perfectly score all the "speed boosts" the person in 1st is also getting, the first one to "fail" loses (is not able to catch up or falls to 2nd place)

thats not the downside though ive almost never gone into fights to only loot people, MOST PEOPLE fight because its fun
