Why would account linking be necessary? Simply allow Seatribe accounts to connect to S1.

So will you re-release all the hats on Steam since nobody there had the option to buy them?

essentially theres nothing new but we have to pay for shit we already paid for, the world is gonna be 3 months and custom clients probably wont work

Ive seen a few games do steam release and the player count hype is usually underwhelming, so were trading all these negatives just for a potential positive of a world with more players but its not even guaranteed cuz playerbase is split and idk if casual pve players are even into a 3 month wipe

this stream started with "steam" which was hype and then every word that followed kinda killed the hype

if there are no pve players there will be no brave warriors who can defeat farmers.
Bye bye brave warrior

Please do this.

Steam gets 30% of all sales and they don't want Steam users to buy directly from the devs, dodging their fees. That's why it needs to be seperated.

I can think of a dozen different games where steam is merely used as a launcher for a client, with clients downloaded from the website or other sources able to access the same server.

Don't split the very small populace in twain and don't make us pay again.

It's amazing how after all these years you still don't know how your game fully works (shorter worlds but with same long timers on certain mechanics and their impact on gameplay), what players expect and how to prepare for the launch on Steam.

Don't get me wrong - Steam launch is great idea. But it all feel rushed, whole stream could be summarized to "We'll see", "We have not been thinking about it" and "It's experiment". That's not how it should be, expecially w/o EA tag. You try to get attention of new players, when game is not prepared for it right now w/o official and actual wiki or proper tutorial. You will get tons of negative reviews and word of mouth AND you are pissing off you current, loyal playerbase. That's a BIG FAT L, J&L.

Without my hatts and tokens I spent money on (and for some people - verification) I'm not intrested at all in S1. Neither plenty of folks I usually play with. But good luck I guess.

The best way to solve the biggest contention is to allow our Seatribe accounts to work on Steam.

I just don't understand the need to separate the ecosystems, allow both types of accounts to connect to the same server (coding wise, when one logs in just check if it's a login through steam or through non-steam version and then authorize it accordingly). Forcing login through steam will fuck shit up.

I'm absolutely onboard with 3-4 month wipes.
But there are a few things that need to be done to avoid burnout, and a few systems that rely on very long periods (pigs with truffle snout finding higher tier truffles, for example) need to be adjusted. As a first, credo quests should scale from 1 quest per level -> 2 -> 3, etc.
