Yeah, it was me, but honestly, just before launch I wished I didn't. Conditions were perfect for him to unapologetically bash heads in with collateral damage.

Pills has done a great job though, I feel. Still, I wouldn't mind him back, his heart's in the right place.

My fault too for complaining so much about him being over zealous at times. Now I regret it and I wish he were here to deal with the idiots that current moderators and devs are lacking in testicular fortitude to handle.

Imagine being a game developer with a community forum filled with talk about pedophilia and the quality of posts are at an all time low but you just ignore it because... well I'm not sure even a barely competent developer would ignore stuff like that, I can only guess it's due to autism.

Dunno about all that man. I do feel it would be best if moderation were completely detached from the community though, people that don't even play the game perhaps. It would require that the forum actually have a clear set of rules with regard to posting of course but overall I think it would be better if mods didn't interact with the community in any personal manner (ie. messaging over discord) and kept things strictly business; only moderating based on the rules of the forum.

See anything about pedophilia or rape on the steam discussion boards? No? I wonder why.

i assume pedos are banned generally in those communities, so there is no shared sentiment of a lack of proper moderation response that leads people to post about it.

Yeah man there are special investigator mods whose sole job it is to take the law into their own hands and dole out punishments based on the speculation of random internet strangers. Guilty until proven innocent is their motto. In fact, paragraph 7 of article 5-16 of the Steam terms of service states alleged pedophiles are strictly prohibited from ever playing video games again if reported and found to be guilty by a court of their steam peers.

Not only will it get deleted but you might lose your account too for posting something that belongs in a private discussion (doxxing). Devs here won't ban anyone for cheating, exploiting, abusing bugs, toxicity/racism, and more of which are legitimate and fair reasons to ban an individual, but you expect someone to get banned for something completely unrelated to the game? And may not even be true? Dream on.

Had someone actually reported his forum posts at the time they were made, he may very well have been banned from the forum then. I doubt anyone did that though, probably did not report them even after making the imgur amalgamation. Looking at the hat they just added however, like I said earlier the devs are too autistic deal with such matters appropriately. In an actual legal route, an individual convicted of such a crime would in most cases not legally be allowed to have unregulated access to the internet.

If in-game messages are logged and saved and they were to delve into what players are saying and doing with each other, what do you think they might find? About Misa? About Snail? About anyone? For sure there would be a ton of racist/sexist/disgusting spam from a particular individual. In terms of social manipulation, Snail is likely better at that than everyone on this forum.

Side note, not necessarily about you specifically Kaios, I wonder if there's any age of consent at all on international waters. Not gonna look that up. Okay dude. I don't get what is so difficult about keeping that stuff to private messages, if he deserves to get banned then let the moderation and devs sort that out. I don't care one way or the other but I don't think the Haven & Hearth forum is an appropriate venue to be discussing that unless someone is using the game or forum themselves to exploit minors which would absolutely be a reason. If you wanna talk about pedophilia so much at least keep it to the shitcord. Kind of got me thinking though, I wonder if things like stealing a store hat from an underage player might also be considered minor exploitation?

I looked over some of the recents but I don't see anything like that. However there appears to be plenty more stuff about toxic community, racism, nazis and swastikas, bigots, griefing, etc. If you want to police the community so heavily I'm all for it, let's get some better rules and enhanced forum and in-game moderation up in here.

I am shocked that you don't want the pedophile banned but do want the nazis banned... like I agree we should ban the nazis but wierd that you see the need to ban them but not Misa.
