people want non-cheeseable animals the same way they want a 0% tax rate
sounds great until you think about the realistic consequences
but also jorb and loftar could spend 10 years worth of development on trying to stop me from cheesing animals and I'd still be cheesing animals

Just realized it's called W16.1 because they're planning to do 9-10 of these temp worlds before they start W17

I thought it was because there was gonna be 1/10th the development changes usually present in a new world launch.

Perhaps we will be pleasantly surprised and they will have considered all the suggestions laid out in this thread to make the new world be named W17 for the quantity of changes.

I dunno.

Yeah I know it would negatively affect SOME hermits who would cheese bears but do they really need bears to sit at home and farm wax all day? It would just give them more encouragement to either team up with their neighbours or trade more. They don't really need bear/moose/mammoth gear to do the same shit they've been doing and neither does anybody else really.

Even if it took a couple more days for a group to be ready to fight bears it would effectively just do what jorbtar wanted and timegate some higher tier gear so that the world progressed more slowly and less content was invalid.

jorb and loftar dont even know how you are supposed to fight animals and making pve harder only benefit factions even more. nice suggestion mammoth trampling palisades lmao, you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about

Actually yeah I thought about it for 4.2 seconds and you could just destroy people's palisades instantly with that lmao

I think alternatively, they could try to kite around in an arc to aim a trunk gunk, or be able to trunk gunk over a palisade, or make a stomp attack that damages in an AOE that is used at half HP or lower. I'm sure there's dozens of different methods to alleviate this without outright allowing griefing from it.

Also it's fine if this only "benefits factions more" because we all know the game isn't made to benefit hermits. It benefits team play and hermits who trade.

I don't doubt it but I know you're also helping them replicate and fix bugs when they actually deign to ask for your help, then rewarding you with smuggled valhalla loot they forget to despawn lol

Yeah they can make it 3D and call it Wurm online, that'd be sick.
