W10 lasted 2 years and 1 month, and most previous worlds lasted at least 1 year, so the next world reset is probably not coming for another 5-6 months at the soonest.

Out of 11 worlds, only 3 have lasted longer than a year--6, 7, 10. Of the rest, 4, 5, and I believe 8, lasted less than 6 months. I'd have to look up times for w1 and 2.

To answer the question: jorb and loftar have always stated the world resets come when there is a need on the development side.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Just to clarify winter crops, none of them will actually "die" right? In other words, there is no downside to planting right before winter hits, because you can harvest in the spring, even if their progress resets or something?

I'm pretty stoked on this update. A persistent, recurring challenge such as Winter is exactly what I think this game needs. As it stands, people are stockpiling resources for no reason. I can imagine winter would make a GREAT food + wood sink. It would push me into logging in regularly to keep ready for Winter. Just my 10 cents. I suppose too much winter would similiarly be a pain in the ass.

I guess if you want to be really pedantic...
Code: Select all
WORLD       Start date      Length of world
World 1     ???             ~3 months? (possibly longer if the world predated the forums)
World 2     Sep 6 2009      <6 months
World 3     Feb 27 2010     <10 months (318 days)
World 4     Jan 11 2011     2 months
World 5     Mar 13 2011     7.5 months
World 6     Oct 25 2011     1 year, 7 months (19 months)
World 7     Jun 3 2013      1 year, 3 months (15 months) - Technically, legacy is still running W7, but we'll say it ended when World 8 began
-
World 8     Aug 28 2015     5 months, almost 6 months
World 9     Feb 18 2016     <11 months
World 10    Jan 7 2017      24+ months
World 11    Feb 1 2019      ...

World 6, 7 and 10 ran for more than a year, but W9 and W3 were close as well. W4 barely counts because they decided to kill it in only 2 months, then that just leaves W2, W5 and W8 not being closer to a year.

Does anyone have better info on World 1's starting date?

Forum setup: Apr 03, 2009.
Early (if not first) user-posted game image: May 06, 2009.
So that gives at least ~4 months for World 1.

Although: ...
1) That was posted by one of the 4 users that registered at that first day. (next one is 20 days later)
2) Its kinda quiet until the end of May 2009.
So ~3 months might still be the more correct one. (game open to public) ... (same for forum probably)

Crops will fall fallow in winter. Fallow crops can be harvested at any time for a reduced amount of seeds of the relevant plant.

Can we plant crops during winter? How much seeds we get from fallow crops?

Pretty sure you can plant but they just won't grow

Colours of the trees are lovely, very liking the seasons :3

That is an African melon.fruit. Currently I doubt it. Only on local things that are in game are things that wear added in legacy, but as everything is, its up to devs, they want watermelons, the game could have them. Just not be shocked if its not gonna happen.
