I mean, that's definitely true for /some/ PVE. Like it's probably good that there isn't a cheese for bat dungeons. Doing a bat dungeon is a cool once per wipe event that EVERYBODY shows up for.

But bears/mammoths/moose are like generic level 5 mobs you have to kill 10,000 of in any MMO. Haven usually only has like 200-400 people online, and it's not exactly easy to find PUGs. If you login to hunt bears, but your village doesn't have enough people online for that you're probably just going to logout. You can see how that would just death spiral villages without rly adding anything positive.

Every mmo that does this is just to stop people from fighting them from glitched positions. It's the laziest shit I've ever seen and makes it nearly impossible for anybody to solo unless they're a warrior because they are not allowed to kite mobs. This is not the solution to anything.

Also, people are saying "durr devs aren't creative enough" yeah no shit, that's why we're making suggestions for them to implement, then people like Snail exposes the flaws, and while the devs are most assuredly always watching him more than they're playing or developing their own game, they/us can suggest more changes.

They're asking for the changes, so we're suggesting them. No they're not going to change anything before release, but 16.1 implies 16.2 and then on.

You are making a big deal out of it, while it really is not. It's not like you cannot progress without it and you'll eventually be able to solo them anyways.
Being able to hunt everything right away does not seem to me like solution for a player retention either. What is really the point of upgrading your gear if there isn't really anything to look forward to.
It's like being able to solo endgame areas on lvl 1.

I feel like you're undervaluing how important it is that people feel good when playing an MMO.Like it or not most people are very goal orientated when the play MMOs.

If the player feels hunting bears is not efficient then hunting bears is pointless and changing them is a waste of time.
If the player feels the most efficient course of action is to hunt bears, but they can't because of something that's so much effort to overcome that it feels out of their control (having 5 friends simultaneously interested in hunting bears) then they will feel bad they're not hunting bears.

IDK about you, but I've played a crapload of low player population MMOs, and it seems very self evident to me impeding the player's feeling of progress whenever they can't find a group is big retarded if most of the time they will not be able to find a group. Like... obviously

Well if there is no way to change how veteran players abuse pvp to torment new players than maybe just make it impossible to steal naked body and head? Becouse stealing it was always only to grief players nothing else, that way at least players can bury body and get 90% stats back and don't quit game becouse some loser stole their body. There was never reason to steal dead players body and was used always only to grief so why it is in game? Only to deter new players.
Simple solution, only you can pick up your naked body, no one else or maybe also your teammates.

We could at least try to add it to this experimental 16.1 world and see how it is going

112 pages for a world with no changes. There might be a new tree type that isn't in the patch notes but otherwise there's only visitor gate changes and your fancy silk pants might give +CHA now instead of the actual good gilding buffs you'd otherwise put in linen pants

Pack it in everybody. Jorbtar stopped reading weeks ago

There is hope that Loftar is keeping up with the suggestions in here.
