Thing is, KO protection works.
We like to interpret it as "Instead of getting killed you go KO", but that's not what KO protection is. It's "When you are KO, you can't be attacked".
The fact that we die without going KO is not an issue with KO protection, it's an issue with concussion damage. A simple IF:concussion_dmg>HHP->THEN:concussion_dmg=HHP-1 would fix this.

They could have simply done it this way. If a character has Rage, they're "vulnerable to death."

If a character doesn't have Rage, they can't be executed and have 1 HP remaining, so they fly back to base. At that point, they become"vulnerable to death." for 24 hours. (This prevents abuse of the mechanic.)

somebody should rly release an open pvp perma death mmo 1 day it's a pretty cool concept and would surely attract the kind of people who'd be interested in pvp and perma death

I don't think people should be discouraged from picking the one skill that actually lets them defend their base/claim/etc. If anything rage itself should be made cheaper while other crime skills are made more expensive to compensate.
Now if you do it for murder ehhhh, ig? But nobody would get murder then outside of murder alts xd

Reduce rage back to 30k and make vandal 70k or smth.

HnH is kind of in the same boat Dwarf Fortress used to be in. Tons of potential but the devs aren’t really pushing it forward. Eventually another studio will make a clone and it’ll end up way more popular like how RimWorld took off compared to DF.
