No, in theory it could be, but if we also want to do the shorter world experiment along with keeping W15 around for longer, that would mean having to choose between them at some point, and I had been hoping to be able to keep a clean separation between them.

What is the goal by keeping W15 for a longer period? I don't see how it contribute in getting data/feedback about the shorter world experiment and keeping it as you stated, lead to a problematic scenario. Not very relevant but also w15 with water bug...

ITT: devs try to play off their laziness/cluelessness as intentional (and dare I say quite genius!) solutions to made-up problems

Salem has a server selector, why cant we just have that for people not wanting to use the steam client. Seems like an easy fix tbh

I'd much rather have to pick between the 2 worlds at login than not be able to play without steam if those are my options lol. Literally the only sticking point of everything that was announced today for me is that you have to play through steam to access S1. I don't understand why you'd enforce this and not just allow people to play without a steam account if they want to. You're essentially killing the current world (because lets be real, the player count is going to drop to 10-30 people the second S1 comes out) and saying that to continue playing, we must use steam. It's such a weird hill to die on.

How does one discover Haven and Hearth on steam besides the link in the forum post and people sharing that link?
I've searched "haven and hearth", "haven hearth", "haven & hearth", and just "haven" and cant seem to find it.
I scrolled through the Coming Soon list and still cannot find the game.
Im not sure if its just too early for it to be discovered, but I thought id point that out.

Oh I didn't figure it out until now. They want W15 to be the persistent world and Steam worlds to be the seasonal worlds. They're just too afraid of the backlash to come out and say it. Ultimately they are experimenting and that isn't the guaranteed outcome though.

Requiring a separate steam account to play a separate server feels kinda cash-grabby. I can't imagine there's many examples of MMOs that came to this solution for a steam release.
