All these combat focused updates are just making the rest of the game more unappealing. Powerups seriously? But npcs are bad. Mkay...

This is what happens when crafters like the game enough to not bitch constantly on the forums. The PvPers bitching is all we ever read. Hard to blame the devs when they're correcting problems they see. The happy side of the playerbase (as a pve player, I quite like this combat system but I realize there's pvp issues attached to it) isn't being heard from as much.

Short of ingame surveys to reach the population they don't normally hear from, I don't see how this can be avoided.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease. The biggest number of players is in PvP and the non-PvP players don't complain much.

"Powerups seriously?" doesn't mean anything. Are they inherently a bad thing? I wouldn't say so. If the speed one was tweaked a bit I could see how they could be fun. If only they add the combat moves I suggested.... rEEE

I'd be shocked if pvpers are anywhere near the majority of the playerbase. They're the majority of the forum base I'd buy, but for every forum personality I've met I've met 4-5 hermits/small villagers in game happily doing their little building/trading/hunting.

Maybe my experiences are biased, but I'd be curious to see what people would identify themselves as.

Given your obvious merits I'm not convinced that that's a loss, but... you would be more helpful if you stated what it is you dislike about this, and why. I can't do much with "QQstopkillinggaembye".

Well, myself I'm really tired of even trying to give you guys feedback, you will listen to someone that started playing the game yesterday and got killed by ants and you will make it impossible to die and easier to run away becouse of that person.

Sounds just like us.

They are only doing this stuff so dumbasses like you stop bitching about pvp and combat but you can't even appreciate the effort they put towards it. I'd love if they were making changes elsewhere or adding new content instead of fucking around with the combat system constantly so stupid pricks like you would be content, even though your only kills lately consist of newbs and alts anyways.

No one wants to fight douchebags from a big ass botting faction, that's the problem with pvp and it will never change so long as pieces of shit like you continue to kill off the player base and then cry that nobody participates.

most seem to like the buffs around and def the knockout stuff from what iv seen(even none noobs), and think kills are far more an accomplishment now, noobs are the bridge to public, if only listen to people who play all the time the starting game may seem impossiable to most

I'm tired of this attitude. This game is based off the backs of PvE players. You interact with them for social content, you eat them for pvp content, but you give them zero respect.

I joined the game a month after you and I've been railing against permadeath for years. "Complained to dying about ants" my ass, the response to loosening permadeath's stranglehold on this game was incredible. Many people who normally steer clear of the forums because of aggressive assholes like you came out and dared to support it lest they be verbally attacked like they have been since this game's community started.

And you want to know the most interesting thing of all? No one quit because of this. Player population is completely unchanged as a result of permadeath modifications. It's by no means the doomsday hardcore permadeath pvpers have been harbingering for years now. More people willing to fight = more people for you to beat, even if I know the people who want to keep permadeath mostly love the satisfaction of destroying a person's months of work because they got caught outside their base picking up a dandelion.

There's survivorship bias in the pvp community, it keeps the griefers more than any other player segment. But permadeath in pvp is not good for the game.
